Happiness is a future secured

Shanti Sparsh provides individuals and communities with the support they need to get ahead.

Touch and go

For several million Indians, the future is anything but certain

While India is one of the world’s fastest growing economies, it is also a country where inequality is rampant.

The top 10% of India’s population holds 77% of the nation’s total wealth. In 2017, 73% of the wealth generated went to the richest 1% while 67 million of India’s poorest only saw a 1% increase in their wealth.

According to the WEF’s Global Social Mobility Report 2020, it will take an Indian born to a low income family, seven generations to even approach the country’s mean income.

While grim, this is also a scenario that we have been tackling at the grassroots, doing our bit to ameliorate and ease the way for the needy within our neighbourhoods and communities.

“We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give.”
Winston Churchill

The healing touch

How redistributing wealth can lead to a world of good

The wealth of Indian billionaires increased by 35% during the lockdown, shooting up by ₹12.97 trillion, enough to give 138 million of India’s poorest a cheque of ₹94,045 each.

However, being a billionaire is hardly a necessary criterion for effecting societal change. The willingness to contribute and help is all that is necessary.

Our strength lies in numbers. Every contribution, no matter how small, when added up can create a tipping point significant enough to create widespread transformation.

We invite you to get involved.
Come be part of change.
